PMAN BOUNCES BACK LEGITIMATELY

“The protracted rancor and crisis which had bedeviled the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) for ages have finally come to an end. 

This followed the order made by Hon. Justice O.E Abang of the Federal High Court, Lagos Division on the 31st of October 2014. The Order which was sequel to an application made by two factions of the union dating back to 2011 when the case began following the sudden resignation of Admiral Dele Abiodun as PMAN President. 

The two parties however decided to go into settlement of the matter with “Terms Of Settlement” clearly worked out and agreed upon accordingly. After several adjournments and delays arising from different factors which were eventually resolved, the court in its wisdom graciously granted the request of parties in consent judgment, thereby setting aside any purported appointment or election of persons into PMAN during the pendency of the suit. 

The court which also granted all prayers of parties also approved an interim Executives/Caretaker Committee headed by Mr Pretty Okafor as interim President. Other members are Tuface Idibia,Sunny Neji, Tolu Obey Fabiyi, Harriz I. Okeilo, Dennis Baker, Lanre Fasasi (Baba Dee) and Dr. Kenny Ama George Secretary respectively. 

According to the judgment, the Interim Executive/Caretaker Committee has the right to co-opt other credible members of PMAN into the committee if they so desire. 

The interim Executive/Caretaker committee shall manage and run the affairs of PMAN for a period of 18 months after which a National Delegates Conference shall be convened for all members to participate in the election of new National Officers for the Union. With this development , all members are hereby requested to close ranks and eschew any form of bickering and embrace the new dawn as the union must move forward. 

Friends, Associates And Patrons of PMAN are also welcomed back with a warm reception as PMAN is back on sound legal footing . The Policy thrust and programs of the new administration shall be unveiled at a press conference scheduled to take place shortly.

Oba Omega becoming the PMAN Chairman Rivers State Chapter

Oba Omega of recent was elected Chairman of the PMAN (Performing Musicians Employee Association of Nigeria Rivers Chapter) & this to me will bring about positive changes as well as that development the Port Harcourt Music industry have longed for. 

Oba Omega coupled with his full knowledge of the challenges faced by the average up-rising musicians in Rivers state & having been putting much to the industry by setting up music concerts on dailies promoting the Port Harcourt industry indigenous acts with no sentiments I believe he will make a great leader been the chairman of the PMAN in Rivers State.

Personally I want to urge all the acts in Rivers State who haven’t registered as members of the PMAN as a result of the Previous Administration to seize this opportunity and register as members to benefit from various Concerts & Open Opportunities the PMAN chairman Oba Omega is going to be sourcing out for & can be only enjoyed been members of the PMAN. 

Personally if I were an artiste & you ask me to register with PMAN with the fact that I have seen nothing really beneficial coming out of the past administration I will object, but now knowing fully well how influential Oba Omega is in Rivers State & how much he has so much promoted the Industry i will have no second thought about been a member. 

On a chat with him to find out what benefit the up-coming Port Harcourt artiste will enjoy he promised that PMAN will be working with #CARNIRIV (Rivers State Festival) to feature Indigenous Artistes & Pay them as well & also speaking the Trade Fair which is coming up soon & Port Harcourt Music Festival will feature artistes in Rivers State as well sort out their bills & give them that special treatment they have longed been neglected from. 

I want to use this medium also to congratulate him on his new appointment as Chairman PMAN Rivers Chapter & pray God give him the strength & understanding to tackle the task ahead of him.

Nigerian Military Reclaim Seized Chibok Community

24 hours after Boko Haram men captured Chibok town in Borno state, soldiers from the 7th Division of the Nigerian army yesterday reclaimed the community after a long gun battle that started yesterday morning. 

An indigene of Chibok who spoke with Leadership, said a large deployment of soldiers were seen moving in from the direction of Damboa on Saturday morning and engaged the sect members in a gun battle, eventually overpowering them. 

“We saw large number of trucks filled with uniformed personnel moving towards Chibok; initially, we were scared but later realised they were soldiers as they did not harass us like the Boko Haram gunmen usually do” 
the source said Confirming the recent development, a top military officer who spoke anonymously said 

“We have taken back Chibok town from the insurgents after some few hours of engagement with them. 

We have since sent them parking from the town; it is now safe for people to return to their homes”.

Contrary to what many of you may think, I am human and I have my fears too. There were times I have had cause to fear and doubt because I am human but God always ended up disappointing my fears and doubts.

In one of my trips with the then Nigeria Airways, the pilot had announced, when we were already airborne, that there were indications that the plane would crash-land. Immediately the pilot made the announcement, I was afraid and as if that was not enough, he said there were expert firefighters who would put out the fire when the plane crashes.

Immediately I embarked on a quick run through my life just to be sure I was ready to meet my Maker. I also told God that I never knew this was how I would end my race. I was really afraid.

BREAKING: First Lady Patience Jonathan Defects To APC

 

Politics they say is an intriguing game, The people’s Democratic Party and the presidency has been put into a state of quagmire, This is coming as the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan against all odds have pitched tent with the main opposition party the All Progressive Congress(APC).

FNN state house correspondent reports that this surprising twist in the electoral calculations in the country could be as a result of the unfolding plot of President Jonathan to declare the office of the first lady vacant.

As it appears, mama P cannot work with the PDP to ensure the success of her husband in the forthcoming elections and not be the first lady, hence she was reported saying “First family is not by force, let us all go to Otuoke and live together happily.”

Further investigations revealed that the First Lady has loads of supporters across the Nation, especially women groups because she has been able to use her office to influence the government into implementation of about 30% women in governance, even though it is widely considered that this support, especially amongst the masses is as a result of the bags of rice, salt, garri, oil etc that mama P has tirelessly distributed to women nationwide.

Some of the women supporting the recent actions of the first lady stated that “mama P is tired of hearing rumours about her husband, the other day it was Alison Madueke, tomorrow it is Lott J, now we are hearing he wants to marry a second wife from the North, As if that’s not bad enough, he now wants to sack her from first lady. All this didn’t happen when they were in Otuoke, so let them quietly return there, if Aso Rock is the problem.” a woman leader of the PDP stated.

Even as most people are concerned about the politicking involved in this, some are viewing this development from a different angle; that Patience Jonathan is giving all glory to the Lord for safely sustaining herself and her husband to almost the end of their first tenor in office, especially with the Boko Haram menance and do not want to extend it any further, in order not to give room for any evil thing to happen to herself or her husband. Probably thinking about some of the previous First Families in recent times.

Meanwhile the APC national leadership as iterated that the party is open to all Nigerians, especially those that has seen the ills of PDP and resigned from a PDP led government, probably referring to the recent resignation of Mrs Patience Jonathan from her position as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Bayelsa state.

As at the time of this report, it hasn’t been confirmed if Patience Jonathan has been able to make peace with the leader of the APC in her home state, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, but since Nigerian politics is of individual interest rather than public service, we won’t be surprised to see Amaechi and Patience Jonathan reconcile, especially as they both want the same thing now, which is for President Jonathan and PDP to lose the presidential elections come 2015.
